South India Holiday Trip Package

Day 1: Chennai

Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel ( the rooms shall be available from 12 noon ). Lunch and thereafter afternoon sightseeing of Madras : Government Museum, the main market area, the High Court, Fort Saint George, the Cathedral of San Thome and the Kapalishwara Temple. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: Chennai - Kanchipuram - Mahabalipuram

Breakfast at the hotel and thereafter leave by road for Kanchipuram. Visit the temple of Ekambareshwara, the temple of Kailashnatha, and the temple of Varadarajaswamy. Lunch at Kanchipuram. Thereafter leave for Mahabalipuram. Upon arrival Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: Mahabalipuram

Breakfast at the hotel and thereafter sightseeing of Mahabalipuram. Visit the Shore Temple, the Five Rathas and the rock bas relief of the descent of Ganges and Arjuna's Penance. Lunch at the hotel and thereafter the afternoon is free for independant activities. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 4: Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry

Breakfast at the hotel and therafter leave by road for Pondicherry. Arrive in time for lunch and check-in at the hotel. Lunch thereafter sightseeing of Pondicherry. The Promenade Beach, Museum of Pondicherry, the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 5: Pondicherry - Tanjore

Early Breakfast at the hotel and there leave for Tanor. Enroute, stop to visit the Shiva Nataraja Temple ar Chidambaram. Arrive Tanjore in time for lunch and theafter visit the Grand Breehadeshwara Temple, and the Tanjore Palace which houses a fantastic museum of Bronze statues. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 6: Tanjore - Tiruchirapalli - Madurai

Early breakfast at the hotel and thereafter leave for Tiruchirapalli. Upon arrival, overview of The Rock Fort, the temples of Ganapati and Shiva. Thereafter visit the Grand Ranganatha Swami Temple on the island of Srirangam. Lunch in a local restaurant and thereafter leave for Madurai. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 7: Madurai

Breakfast at the hotel and theafter visit the Grand Meenakshi-Sundareshwara Temple and the Tirumalaya Nayak Lunch at the hotel and afternoon free. In the evening, proceed to the Meenakshi Temple to witness the closing ceremony. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 8: Madurai - Periyar

Breakfast at the hotel and thereafter leave for the Wildlife Sanctuary of Periyar. Lunch at the hotel and theafter proceed for a boat cruise on the Lake Periyar to view wild animals which come to the lake. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 9: Periyar - Kumarakom

Breakfast at the hotel and thereafter leave for Kumarakom. Arrive in time for lunch at the hotel. Afternoon, boatcruise on the Backwaters of Kerala along the small canals bordered by small villages and coconut plantations. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 10: Kumarakom - Cochin

Breakfast at the hotel and thereafter leave for Cochin. Arrive in time for lunch. Afternoon, visit the Dutch Palace, the Jewish Synagogue at Jew Town, the Chinese fishing nets and the Churches of St. Francis and Santa Cruz. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
